Gangnam Nightlife Guide in Seoul: Clubs, Bars, Entry Fees & Foreigner Tips

Gangnam nightlife is spread across several different areas of Seoul, from the large dance clubs near Sinsa Station to event-driven venues in Cheongdam and table-focused lounges around Apgujeong Rodeo. Choosing where to go involves more than finding a club that plays your favorite music.

For international visitors, the biggest questions are often practical: Can foreigners enter? Do you need a reservation? How much is admission? Is there an age limit? Entry rules can also differ between men and women, solo travelers and groups, or general admission and VIP table bookings.

This guide covers Gangnam’s clubs and nightlife areas, available entrance-fee information, dress codes, ID requirements, addresses and late-night transport. It also explains which entry policies have been confirmed and what you should check with a venue before heading out.

If you are still deciding between Gangnam, Hongdae and Itaewon, see our Seoul Nightlife Guide for a broader comparison by age, music, budget and nightlife style.

Gangnam Nightlife at a Glance

Gangnam is not one single nightlife district. Its clubs, bars and lounges are spread across several neighborhoods, and the experience can be very different depending on where you go.

The Gangnam Station area has busy drinking streets and casual bars, while Sinsa is home to larger late-night clubs. Apgujeong Rodeo and Cheongdam offer a mix of dance clubs, cocktail bars and lounges, including venues where table reservations are an important part of the experience.

Choose your area before choosing a venue. Some nightlife spots are several subway stops apart, so trying to visit them all on foot is impractical.

Can Foreigners Enter Gangnam Clubs?

Some Gangnam clubs welcome international visitors, but foreigner admission is not guaranteed at every venue. Policies may vary depending on your age, gender, group size, reservation and the event taking place that night.

Do not assume that paying the advertised entrance fee guarantees admission. Some clubs have separate policies for general admission, guest-list entry and VIP table reservations.

Always check the venue’s current entry policy before traveling there, especially if you are visiting alone or without a table reservation.

Gangnam Clubs: Entry Fees, Music & Foreigner Policies

Gangnam has several different types of dance clubs, from large EDM and hip-hop venues to event-driven clubs and upscale nightlife spots centered around VIP tables.

For international visitors, choosing a club involves more than checking the music. Admission fees, age restrictions, dress codes and reservation requirements can vary considerably between venues. The following guide covers individual clubs, with particular attention to foreign visitor admission and what you should confirm before arriving.

Club ACE (Formerly Club RACE) — Sinsa

Club ACE operates at the former Club RACE location near Sinsa Station. It is a large late-night dance club associated with EDM and hip-hop, with a main dance floor, bar seating and VIP table areas.

Can foreigners enter? ACE advertises admission for international guests and offers multilingual reservation assistance. However, admission is still subject to its door policy, particularly for male visitors without a table reservation.

Key information

  • Music: EDM and hip-hop. Check the event lineup for the night you plan to visit.
  • Foreigner admission: Available, subject to door approval.
  • Age restriction: 19+. No separate maximum age has been publicly confirmed.
  • ID: Foreign visitors must bring their physical passport. Photos and copies are not accepted.
  • Entrance fee: ₩20,000 is advertised for paid general admission. Female guest-list entry may be free, while male admission depends on the club’s policy that night.
  • VIP tables: English booking information advertises options starting at ₩800,000. Prices vary by date, seating area and package.
  • Dress code: Smart casual is recommended. Flip-flops, sportswear, shorts and caps may result in refused entry.
  • Address: 597 Gangnam-daero, Seocho-gu, Seoul (서울 서초구 강남대로 597).
  • Nearest subway: Sinsa Station, Exit 4 (Line 3 / Shinbundang Line).

Important for male visitors: Do not assume that paying ₩20,000 guarantees entry. ACE’s Korean booking information warns that male guests may need a table reservation and that paid admission can still be refused depending on the situation at the door. Contact the venue and confirm your group’s admission arrangements before waiting in line.

International visitors can make inquiries in English, and the English booking site provides chat-based reservation assistance without requiring a Korean phone number.

LION Superclub — Cheongdam

LION Superclub is a large, event-focused dance club in Cheongdam, with a spacious main dance floor, large LED screens and international DJ performances. Located on Dosan-daero, it is particularly suited to travelers interested in large-scale electronic music events rather than smaller bars or lounges.

Its music changes depending on the event. Previous lineups have featured EDM, progressive house, trance and tech house, including international DJs.

Key information

  • Music: EDM, house, trance and other electronic music, depending on the DJ lineup.
  • Foreigner admission: English-language event tickets are available, but a general walk-in admission policy for foreign visitors has not been independently confirmed.
  • Age restriction: Ticketed events have advertised admission for ages 19 and over. Check the specific event and venue’s door policy before visiting.
  • ID: Bring your original passport and confirm the event’s identification requirements in advance.
  • Entrance fee: Recent events have advertised advance tickets from ₩25,000, with regular door tickets around ₩30,000–₩45,000. These are examples, not fixed admission prices.
  • VIP tables: Reservation packages are available. Prices depend on the date, table location and included services.
  • Dress code: Check the event announcement. Some themed nights specify particular clothing requirements.
  • Opening hours: Friday and Saturday events generally start around 11 p.m. and run until approximately 6 a.m. Special events may have different schedules.
  • Address: 535 Dosan-daero, 1F, Gangnam-gu, Seoul (서울 강남구 도산대로 535, 1층).
  • Nearest subway: Cheongdam Station, Line 7.

Important for international visitors: Buying an advance ticket is different from reserving a VIP table. Before purchasing, confirm whether your ticket permits entry without a table reservation and whether any additional door restrictions apply to your group. If you are visiting alone, particularly as a male traveler, check directly with the organizer rather than assuming that a ticket guarantees admission.

PLUS82 — Cheongdam

PLUS82 is an electronic music club in Cheongdam, particularly known for its techno-oriented parties and after-hours nightlife. Unlike larger mainstream clubs, it places greater emphasis on underground electronic music and DJ-led events.

Key information

  • Music: Techno, hard techno and other electronic music, depending on the event.
  • Foreigner admission: English-language event tickets have been sold, but a general walk-in admission policy for foreigners has not been independently confirmed.

  • ID: Bring your original passport for age verification and check the event’s specific ID requirements.
  • Entrance fee: Two verified 2026 events advertised advance tickets at ₩20,000 and ₩25,000. These are event-specific prices, not a fixed entrance fee.
  • VIP tables: Current reservation prices and availability have not been independently confirmed.
  • Dress code: No consistent, publicly verified dress code has been established. Check the event announcement before visiting.
  • Opening hours: PLUS82 is associated with late-night and after-hours clubbing, but schedules vary by event. Check the latest announcement.
  • Address: B1, 539 Dosan-daero, Gangnam-gu, Seoul (서울 강남구 도산대로 539, 지하 1층).
  • Nearest subway: Cheongdam Station (Line 7).

Important for international visitors: An English-language ticket listing does not necessarily mean that every foreign visitor can enter without restrictions. If you are visiting alone, particularly as a male traveler, confirm the current admission policy before purchasing a ticket or traveling to the venue.

Also check whether the event requires advance booking, whether tickets are available at the door and what time admission begins. Do not assume that the club follows the same schedule every weekend.

Browse upcoming Seoul DJ events on Resident Advisor to check whether PLUS82 has a scheduled event during your visit.

COLOR Lounge — Apgujeong Rodeo

COLOR Lounge is a club-style nightlife venue in the Apgujeong Rodeo area, with a dance floor, DJ performances and a strong emphasis on bottle service and reserved tables.

It offers a different experience from the large electronic music clubs in Sinsa and Cheongdam. Visitors should pay particular attention to the reservation arrangements, as a standing bottle-service package is not the same as ordinary admission.

Key information

  • Foreigner admission: Not independently confirmed. An English-language booking service is available through a third-party reservation platform, but this does not guarantee entry.

  • Female admission: Free guest-list entry is advertised by reservation services, subject to availability and door approval.

  • VIP tables: One booking service advertises tables from ₩800,000, while another English-language platform lists a higher booking minimum. Confirm the full price, included bottles and any additional charges before making a reservation.
  • Dress code: A reservation service lists casual dress, but actual admission remains subject to the venue’s door policy.
  • Opening hours: Friday and Saturday, approximately 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., according to a current third-party listing. Confirm before visiting.

  • Nearest subway: Apgujeong Rodeo Station (Suin–Bundang Line).

Important for international visitors: Do not assume that a free guest-list offer applies to foreigners or that a paid bottle-service reservation guarantees admission. If you are traveling alone or in an all-male group, confirm the current entry policy before committing to a reservation. Also ask whether the venue accepts foreign-issued cards and whether you can complete the booking without a Korean phone number.

Check COLOR Lounge booking and admission information before your visit.

  • Dress code: Avoid flip-flops and sportswear. Confirm any additional requirements with the venue before visiting.

HYPE has appeared in international nightlife guides, but foreign visitors should pay particular attention to its admission arrangements. These reports do not establish the venue’s current policy, so it is important to confirm the rules before visiting.

Key information

  • Music: Primarily hip-hop, according to nightlife guides. Check the latest DJ lineup before visiting.
  • Foreigner admission: Not guaranteed. English-language table booking is advertised by a third-party service, but the venue’s current walk-in admission policy for foreigners has not been independently confirmed.

TIMES — Apgujeong Rodeo

TIMES is a DJ-focused nightclub near Apgujeong Rodeo Station, with a music program that includes hip-hop, house, breakbeats and other dance music. Unlike venues primarily promoted around VIP bottle service, TIMES publishes individual DJ lineups and event-specific entry information.

Its music can vary significantly from one night to another, so checking the lineup is particularly useful if you prefer a specific genre.

Key information

  • Music: Hip-hop, house, breakbeats and other DJ-led dance music, depending on the event.
  • Foreigner admission: Published event announcements explicitly accept passports from any country for age verification. Admission remains subject to the event’s other entry conditions and the venue’s door policy.
  • Male and female admission: Separate policies for solo men, all-male groups and female guest-list entry have not been independently confirmed.
  • Age restriction: Published 2026 events permitted entry for people born in 2007 or earlier. Check the requirements for your specific event.
  • ID: Bring your original passport. Published event rules accept Korean-issued identification or passports from any country.
  • Entrance fee: A consistent general admission price has not been verified. Check the event announcement for ticket prices and door admission.
  • VIP tables: Table reservations are advertised, but current minimum spending requirements and package prices have not been independently confirmed.
  • Dress code: Published event rules prohibit open-toed shoes. Check for additional restrictions before visiting.
  • Opening hours: Previous events have started around 10–11 p.m. and continued into the early morning. There is no independently verified fixed schedule for every week.
  • Address: B1, 25 Apgujeong-ro 54-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul (서울 강남구 압구정로54길 25, 지하 1층).
  • Nearest subway: Apgujeong Rodeo Station (Suin–Bundang Line), approximately a three-minute walk.

Important for international visitors: TIMES has published clearer foreign-passport rules than many other Apgujeong venues. However, accepting foreign identification does not guarantee entry for every visitor. Check the current event’s admission fee, age restrictions, guest-list arrangements and dress code before heading there.

If you are visiting alone or with an all-male group, confirm whether general admission is available without a table reservation. For reserved tables, request the total price and included services before paying.

Check TIXX for upcoming TIMES events, DJ lineups and ticket information.

LUKA SEOUL — Sinsa

LUKA SEOUL is an electronic music venue in Sinsa, known for its hard techno, hardcore, hardstyle and underground rave events. Unlike many of Apgujeong’s hip-hop lounges, LUKA focuses on DJ-led parties, with music and admission prices changing from event to event.

The venue regularly hosts Korean and international DJs, making it worth checking if you prefer harder electronic music over mainstream EDM or bottle-service nightlife.

Key information

  • Music: Hard techno, hardstyle, hardcore, industrial techno, gabber and other electronic genres, depending on the event.
  • Foreigner admission: International visitors have reported attending events, and English-language event information is available. However, admission for every nationality and group type has not been formally guaranteed.
  • Male and female admission: No consistently published gender-specific admission policy has been verified. Solo visitors and all-male groups should check their chosen event’s entry conditions.

  • ID: Published event rules require valid identification. Foreign visitors should bring their original passport and confirm accepted ID types before arriving.
  • Entrance fee: September 2026 events have advertised prices ranging from free admission to ₩10,000–₩15,000. Other events may charge more, and advance and door prices can differ.
  • VIP tables: Booking inquiries are accepted for some events, but a standard minimum spend has not been independently confirmed.
  • Dress code: No consistent venue-wide dress code has been verified. Check for event-specific requirements.
  • Opening hours: Event-dependent. Recent parties have started around 11 p.m. and continued until 7–9 a.m. Do not assume these hours apply every day.
  • Address: B1, 46 Gangnam-daero 152-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul (서울 강남구 강남대로152길 46, 지하 1층).
  • Nearest subway: Sinsa Station (Line 3 / Shinbundang Line), approximately a five-minute walk.

Important for international visitors: LUKA publishes individual event information, including music genres, ticket prices and age requirements. Check the event listing before visiting rather than relying on a general club guide.

If you are interested in a particular DJ or genre, verify the lineup for that date. Also check whether tickets are available at the door, whether re-entry is permitted and whether your group meets the admission requirements.

Other Gangnam Nightlife: AP Lounge & Retro Music

Not every nightlife venue in Gangnam is a large EDM club or an upscale VIP lounge. There are also smaller hip-hop venues and retro Korean music spots, although their admission policies and opening schedules can be harder to verify.

AP Lounge — Apgujeong Rodeo

AP Lounge advertises hip-hop music and weekend nightlife in Apgujeong Rodeo. Its booking profile lists Friday and Saturday opening hours from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

  • Address: B1, 12 Seolleung-ro 155-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
  • Music: Primarily hip-hop, according to its booking profile.

Bamgwa Eumaksai (밤과 음악사이) — Gangnam Station

  • Area: Near Sinnonhyeon Station, Exit 7.
  • Music: Retro Korean dance music.
  • Foreigner admission: Not independently confirmed.
  • Entrance fee: ₩20,000 in one recent visitor report; verify the current price.

Gangnam Club Comparison: Music, Foreigner Entry & Admission Fees

The table below compares Gangnam’s clubs and additional nightlife venues by music, foreign visitor admission and entrance fees.

Foreigner admission is not guaranteed unless the venue confirms it. English-language tickets and international table reservations are useful signs, but they do not necessarily mean that every visitor can enter without restrictions.

Prices are based on published event tickets or booking information, where available. They are not guaranteed admission prices for every night. VIP table packages are priced separately.

Gangnam Club Entry Rules for Foreigners: Age, ID & Dress Code

Foreign tourists can enter some Gangnam clubs, but admission rules are not the same everywhere. Being old enough, having a ticket or making a reservation does not automatically guarantee entry.

Before heading to a club, check the following requirements, particularly if you are visiting alone, traveling in an all-male group or are over 30.

Age Restrictions: Is There an Upper Age Limit?

Under South Korea’s Youth Protection Act, people born in 2007 or earlier meet the legal age threshold for adult nightlife venues in 2026. The rule is based on birth year, so you do not have to wait until your birthday that year.

However, clubs may apply additional age restrictions. Some reservation services warn about restrictions for visitors in their late 30s or 40s, but these should not be treated as universal Gangnam club policies.

If you are over 30, ask about the venue’s current age policy before waiting in line, particularly if you do not have a table reservation.

South Korea’s Youth Protection Act

Passport and Identification

Bring your original, valid passport. Do not rely on a passport photo, photocopy, overseas driving licence or student ID unless the venue explicitly confirms it will accept that document.

For example, ACE’s English entry guide specifically requires foreign guests to present a physical passport. Published TIMES event rules accept passports from any country.

Keep your passport securely with you throughout the night, as you may need to show it again when entering another venue.

Dress Code

Gangnam clubs do not have one universal dress code. Larger mainstream clubs and upscale lounges may enforce stricter clothing requirements than underground electronic music venues.

Smart-casual clothing and clean, closed-toe shoes are practical choices when you have not received specific instructions.

Avoid assuming that shorts, sportswear, flip-flops, sandals or caps will be accepted. Some venues explicitly restrict these items, while others set different rules for individual events.

How to Confirm Entry Before Joining the Queue

If a club’s foreigner admission policy is unclear, contact the venue through its official website or social media account before visiting.

“Hi, we’re international tourists planning to visit tonight. Can foreign visitors enter without a table reservation? Are there any age or gender restrictions? What is the entrance fee and dress code?”

Include your group’s size and ages when asking. If you are visiting alone, mention that as well.

If the staff cannot confirm your eligibility, do not assume that buying a ticket or paying for a table will solve the problem. Get the admission conditions and any reservation charges confirmed before making a payment.

How Much Does a Night Out in Gangnam Cost?

A night out in Gangnam can be relatively affordable if you pay for general admission, but costs rise considerably when you reserve bottles or a VIP table.

The most important distinction is that an entrance fee, a guest-list reservation and a bottle-service package are three different things. Before paying, make sure you understand exactly what your booking includes.

General Admission and Guest Lists

General admission usually gives you access to the club without reserving a table. The price depends on the venue, event and day of the week.

For example, ACE advertised a ₩20,000 general admission fee in September 2026. Other clubs sell event-specific tickets, while some Apgujeong venues do not publish a reliable individual entrance fee.

Free guest-list admission may be available at certain venues, but it can depend on gender, arrival time and the club’s door policy. A free-entry offer does not necessarily apply to foreign visitors.

Check whether your admission includes a drink, whether re-entry is permitted and whether tickets are available at the door.

Standing Reservations and VIP Tables

Many Apgujeong clubs place considerable emphasis on bottle-service reservations.

A standing reservation generally involves purchasing a drinks package rather than paying a standard individual entrance fee. It does not necessarily include a private table or dedicated seating.

A Korean booking agency advertised standing packages starting at approximately ₩300,000 and tables from ₩800,000 at several Apgujeong clubs in May 2026. These are advertised starting prices, not guaranteed prices for your visit.

VIP table costs can vary significantly depending on the venue, day, seating location and included bottles.

For example, ACE advertised VIP tables starting at ₩800,000 on weekdays and ₩1,500,000 on weekends in September 2026.

Payment, Deposits and Additional Costs

Before reserving a bottle package or VIP table, get written confirmation of:

  • The total price in Korean won, including any additional charges.
  • The number of guests included in the reservation.
  • The bottles, mixers and other services included.
  • Whether the booking fee includes admission for your entire group.
  • Any deposit, remaining balance and cancellation or refund conditions.
  • Whether foreign-issued credit cards are accepted and whether a Korean phone number is required.

Payment arrangements vary between venues and booking services. Do not assume that every club accepts international cards or that a deposit is refundable.

If you are booking through a third party, verify the reservation with the venue whenever possible and keep a copy of your booking confirmation.

Best Nights to Go and Getting Around Gangnam

Gangnam’s nightlife covers several neighborhoods, so choosing the right night and planning where to start can save you unnecessary travel. Check the specific club’s event schedule before heading out, especially if you want to visit more than one venue.

Best Days and Times to Visit

Friday and Saturday are good starting points for planning a club-focused night, with more weekend events and late-night options to choose from. However, some underground electronic music venues also host special weekday parties or after-hours events.

For a typical night out, consider having dinner or visiting a bar around 9–11 p.m., then heading to your chosen club later in the evening. Check the event’s opening time, DJ schedule and last-entry rules rather than assuming every venue follows the same timetable.

If you are visiting on a weekday, confirm that your preferred venue is actually holding an event that night. A club listed as operating may not offer its usual music or admission arrangements every day.

Moving Between Gangnam’s Nightlife Areas

Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon are convenient starting points for an evening of casual bars and drinking streets. From either station, the Shinbundang Line connects to Sinsa, where you will find ACE, LUKA and nearby nightlife venues.

Apgujeong Rodeo is a separate nightlife area, with clubs and lounges such as COLOR, CORE, DM, CODE, HYPE and TIMES. Many of these venues are within walking distance of one another, making this area more convenient for visiting several places in one night.

Cheongdam’s LION and PLUS82 are another option for travelers interested in event-driven electronic music. Always check the venue’s exact address rather than assuming all clubs in Cheongdam are close to the same subway exit.

If you plan to visit multiple clubs, staying within one neighborhood is often more practical than traveling across Gangnam throughout the night. If you do change areas, check the subway route while trains are still running or arrange a taxi.

Do not rely on the subway for your journey home without checking the last train for your exact route. Operating hours vary by line, station, direction and day of the week, and the Shinbundang Line has different weekday and weekend schedules.

If you are visiting Gangnam around the end of October, some clubs may run special Halloween events with different tickets, entry rules or table pricing. See our Halloween in Seoul 2026 guide for current event information and comparisons between Gangnam, Itaewon and Hongdae.

Getting Home After Clubbing in Gangnam

If you plan to stay out until the early morning, arrange your journey back to your accommodation before heading to a club. Once the subway stops running, your main options are late-night buses and taxis.

Gangnam’s busiest nightlife areas can be particularly challenging when large numbers of people leave clubs at similar times. Knowing the night bus routes and Seoul’s taxi surcharge rules can help you avoid a long wait or an unexpectedly expensive ride.

Late-Night Taxi Fares in Seoul

Seoul’s standard taxis charge higher fares between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m., with the highest surcharge applying between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m.

For standard sedan taxis, the nighttime fares are:

  • 10–11 p.m.: 20% surcharge, with a base fare of ₩5,800.
  • 11 p.m.–2 a.m.: 40% surcharge, with a base fare of ₩6,700.
  • 2–4 a.m.: 20% surcharge, with a base fare of ₩5,800.

These base fares cover the first 1.6 km. Additional distance and time charges apply, and journeys outside Seoul may incur an additional surcharge.

Premium taxis, larger vehicles and app-based services may use different pricing structures. Check the estimated fare before booking rather than assuming every taxi charges the standard sedan rate.

Seoul Night Owl Buses from Gangnam

Seoul operates a network of overnight buses known as Night Owl Buses. They can be an affordable alternative to taxis if your accommodation is located along a suitable route.

Night bus routes serving the Gangnam Station area include N13, N37 and N61. These services connect Gangnam with other parts of Seoul, although the best route depends on your destination.

According to Seoul’s 2026 night bus information, the adult fare is ₩2,500 when paying with a transportation card.

Unlike regular daytime buses, Night Owl Buses may have longer intervals between departures. Check the exact stop, direction and next arrival before leaving your club. The published first and last departure times refer to route terminals, not necessarily the stop where you plan to board.

Night buses are not always convenient if you are leaving a club in Apgujeong Rodeo or Cheongdam. You may need to walk to a suitable stop, transfer or take a taxi instead.

Staying Safe in Gangnam at Night

Gangnam has a wide variety of nightlife venues, from busy dance clubs to smaller cocktail bars and lounges. A few practical precautions can help you enjoy your night and deal with unexpected situations.

If you are visiting a club for the first time, save its address and your accommodation’s location before going out. This is particularly useful if you need assistance late at night.

Practical Safety Tips for Clubbing

  • Keep your belongings secure. Use a zipped bag or the venue’s lockers if available. Avoid leaving your phone, wallet or passport unattended at a table.
  • Keep track of your drinks. Do not leave drinks unattended or accept an open drink from someone you do not know.
  • Respect personal space and privacy. Ask permission before photographing other guests, especially inside clubs and lounges.
  • Know when to ask for help. If someone is harassing you or you feel unsafe, move toward club staff or a well-lit public area and seek assistance.
  • Stay connected with your group. Agree on a meeting point in case you get separated, and make sure everyone knows how to return to their accommodation.
  • Check your condition before leaving. If you or a friend feels seriously unwell, seek medical assistance rather than attempting to travel alone.

Emergency Numbers and Tourist Assistance

Save these numbers before heading out:

  • 112 — Police: Call if you experience a crime, threats, harassment or another situation requiring immediate police assistance.
  • 119 — Ambulance and Fire: Call for medical emergencies, serious injuries, fires or rescue assistance.
  • 1330 — Korea Travel Helpline: A 24-hour multilingual service offering tourist information, interpretation and assistance with travel-related problems.

If you need urgent police or medical assistance, call 112 or 119 directly. If language is a barrier, the 1330 Travel Helpline can also provide interpretation assistance when communicating with emergency services.

When calling for help, give your exact location, including the club’s name, street address or a nearby landmark. If you are unsure of your location, ask a member of staff to help you identify the address.
